SPX Electric factory's customized AC Contactor Air Conditioning Unit is not a simple application of a universal contactor. It is an electromagnetic switch device professionally defined in terms of electrical life, breaking capacity, and volume structure based on the working characteristics of air conditioning compressors (especially sealed compressors with automatic reset overload protection) and fan motors.

Features and Advantages

The high quality AC Contactor Air Conditioning Unit strictly complies with the usage category standards of AC-8a (electric motors in control sealed refrigeration compressors) or AC-7a (electric motor loads for household and similar purposes), which means that its electrical life and on/off capacity testing conditions fully simulate the real working conditions of air conditioning compressors.
The common rated working current covers 30A to 45A, and the working voltage is matched with single-phase (208-240V) or three-phase (up to 660V) air conditioning systems, which can directly meet the compressor power requirements of most household and commercial air conditioners.
The main contacts are generally made of silver alloy or silver based alloy materials, which have excellent conductivity, resistance to arc erosion, and resistance to welding, ensuring stable contact even when frequently subjected to compressor start-up surge currents.
Adopting a three-dimensional design with an upper and lower layout, the upper part is a direct acting bridge double break point contact system, and the lower part is an electromagnetic system. The structure is compact and conducive to installation in the air conditioning control box with limited space.
Built in double break electric arc extinguishing chamber or longitudinal seam arc extinguishing grid can quickly cool and extinguish the arc generated when breaking the current, effectively protecting the contacts and preventing interference with other weak current control signals.
Strict environmental adaptability: The usage conditions are clearly defined, such as the ambient air temperature range (commonly -5 ℃ to+50 ℃), altitude (≤ 2000m), pollution level, and installation category (usually Class III), to ensure stable operation in high temperature, high humidity, and vibration environments that the air conditioning outdoor unit may face.
For the convenience of on-site installation, two main circuit connection methods are often provided: plug connection and screw connection. The coil terminals are also commonly designed with plug-in connections to simplify the wiring process.
Some models allow the installation of auxiliary contact modules for electrical interlocking or feedback of contactor status to the control system, increasing control flexibility.
